Each week our Fantasy Baseball experts will give fantasy owners their top choices for players to pick up for all leagues, as well as some players to consider in deeper leagues. Add in all leagues
When you look at Hudson’s career stats he has never had a big drop off. If he can stay healthy we expect a good win total and a sub 4 ERA. We think Hudson should be picked up in virtually all leagues at this point. (about 75% owned)
Wilson finally had a bad start, but if you look at his season totals they are still impressive. We think he will bounce back with his next start, and Wilson should have fantasy value for the entire season. (about 70% owned)
This tall youngster has all the upside in the world, and we think he is a great gamble at this point. Latos has decent strikeout totals and only 9 walks in 43 inngings. He hasn’t given up an earned run in either of his last two starts, and we like his potential moving forward. (about 40% owned)
We think LeBlanc has a decent upside but his high whip and walk totals scare us a bit. He is someone that you need to keep an eye on and maybe pickup in deeper leagues. (about 25% owned)
Dotel has not been off to a good start, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the Pirates shake things up in their bullpen. Meek has been by far the best pitcher in the Pirates bullpen, and we think at some point this season he could take over the closer role. (about 15% owned)
Pence got off to a terrible start this season, but he is starting to catch fire. We all know he has a huge upside, and there is a great chance he ends up having a good season. (about 75% owned)
Aviles had a terrible year last year, but he has started this year on fire. He should bat for a decent average and with second base and shortstop eligibility he has a big upside. If you need help in the middle infield Aviles could be your guy. (about 20% owned)
Callaspo has done it all so far this year, and when you factor in his position eligibility we think he is a must add. He is a young player with a ton of upside, and it looks like this could be his break out year. (about 60% owned)
This rookie has taken full advantage of his playing time with the Tigers. In 75 AB’s he is batting almost .400 with decent power. There is no guarantee that he holds onto his job once everyone is healthy in Detroit, but we would be shocked if they don’t find a way to keep him in the lineup. (about 25% owned)
