Each week our Fantasy Baseball experts will give fantasy owners their top choices for players to pick up for all leagues, as well as some players to consider in deeper leagues. If you have any Fantasy Baseball questions for our experts feel free to post them in post them in our Fantasy Sports Forum.
During the playoffs it is always important do have utility guys on your bench to plug in when your regulars have an off day. Walker is the perfect example, with second and third base eligibility he will give your team a lot more versatility. When you add in the fact that he is batting .340 in the last month with decent power, we think he is a great add for almost any team. (about 40% owned)
Few players have been hotter in the last 30 days then Bruce. He has hit 8 HR’s in his last 62 AB’s, and he is batting over .400 during that span. He is a little banged up right now but we think he will be back by the weekend. He is someone to pick up if you have a bye this week, or if your matchup is looking pretty good this week. Morrison got called up at the end of July and he has taken full advantage of his time in the bigs. He is batting over .310 with a decent amount of RBI’s. He is someone to look at in deeper leagues, but with dual position eligibility we like this young guys upside. (about 10% owned)
There are a lot of things we like about Drew. He bats leadoff, he plays SS, and he has great numbers in the last month. If you need any help at shortstop then go ahead and pick up Drew. (about 75% owned)
Zambrano has had a terrible season so far but he is starting to get things going. In the last month he is 4-0 with an ERA under 2. He appears to be healthy, and we think he could end the season on a positive note. (about 40% owned)
Jackson has been putting up amazing strikeout numbers as of late. He has double digit K’s in 3 of his last 4 games, and he has put up great numbers in the last six weeks. He is a perfect pitcher to target if you are looking for some strikeouts. (about 75% owned)
Perez looks like he could be a great fantasy closer for many seasons to come. He has only give up 2 ER’s in the last 2 months, and he is averaging a strikeout per inning. Perez is only 25 year old and we think he is a great add at this point. (about 65% owned)
We can’t believe that Takahashi is still available in 70% of leagues. Since taking over the closer role he has been nothing short of amazing. If you need help with saves down the stretch Takahashi is your man. (about 30% owned)
All signs are pointing to Lyon being the closer for the rest of the season, and this makes him an interesting fantasy player. He has 11 saves in the last 30 days with an ERA of 2.60. Lyon is pitching great, and we say don’t hesitate to add him if you are looking for some closer depth. (about 50% owned)
