If you are new to a salary cap format, here are the basics. You get a fake budget to spend on your players/team. Your weekly lineup strategy is completely up to you. You can target a group of medium-priced players, or play some higher-priced studs mixed with lower-priced value plays. All you need to do is stay under the salary cap.

You’ll need to save money on at least a couple of positions if you want to roll with any high-priced studs in your lineup. With that in mind, here are some FanDuel value picks for Week 12 that I like (based on a $60k budget; sorted by position and price).

Mark Sanchez vs TEN ($7,500)

While Sanchez didn’t look so well last week, he still managed a decent day for fantasy numbers. I like his offense enough to give him another start and I like that he’s playing at home this week. Sanchez could be a rebound candidate and has good value as the 17th priced QB on FanDuel for Week 12.

Colin Kaepernick vs WAS ($7,300)

I’m not overly high on Kaepernick in general, but I like his matchup and he’s playing at home this week. Factoring in his potential rushing numbers, Kaepernick offers up a fair amount of upside. With a run game on the average side, Kaepernick could be air it out more this week.

Running Backs

Tre Mason @ SD ($5,600)

Tre Mason has had some tough run matchups the last few weeks and I like his chances for a solid game this week. The Chargers are a middle of the road run defense, but their run defense numbers are also inflated by their weaker schedule. If the Rams get a lead or are close in this one, expect a heavy dose of Tre Mason.

Isaiah Crowell @ ATL ($5,500)

It’s a nice matchup this week for the Browns starter. Will that be Crowell or Terrance West? I believe it will be Crowell, but you’ll want to check the pre-game news to make sure Crowell starts. Crowell could be a nice value pick, assuming he starts. Josh Gordon on the field could also help the offense improve as well as opening up the run game.

Wide Receivers

Josh Gordon @ ATL ($7,800)

A bit risk/reward here with The Josh Gordon Show starting this week. If Gordon isn’t rusty, this will likely be the cheapest he’ll be this year. It’s a good matchup in the passing game and Gordon has high WR1 upside if you don’t mind a little gamble. Nobody should be surprised if Gordon were to finish the week as the top receiver.

Wes Welker vs MIA ($5,800)

It’s possible both Emmanuel Sanders and Julius Thomas are out for Week 12. If injuries keep his teammates out, I’d look for Wes Welker to get a boost in targets. For a WR3 play, the price for Welker is good considering his upside with Peyton Manning at the helm.

Tight Ends

Coby Fleener vs JAC ($5,400)

If Dwyane Allen is out this week, I like Coby Fleener for a solid value play. Without Dwyane Allen and Ahmad Bradshaw, I like Fleener for increased possession numbers and also a boost in red zone targets. Considering the high powered offense, Fleener offers value as well as TE1 potential this week.

Jacob Tamme vs MIA ($5,300)

Another injury upside TE here with Jacob Tamme, if Julius Thomas is out. When Julius Thomas went out, Tamme was targeted 10 times. Emmanuel Sanders is dealing with a concussion, which could bring even more targets if Sanders is out this week. Tamme is a poor blocker, so you can count on him running passing routes.

Defense/Special Teams

Philadelphia Eagles vs TEN ($5,100)

The Eagles took a hit in price after being squashed by the Packers last week. Back at home this week and with a lower price, I’d resume to playing the Eagles as normal. In a much better matchup and at home, the Eagles should rebound.

Seattle Seahawks vs ARI ($5,000)

I’m always a fan of playing the Seahawks defense at home. Seattle hasn’t made the big plays on defense like last year, but the price is right considering the upside. If Seattle can rattle Drew Stanton early, it could be a good day for Seattle’s numbers.

Punting on 3rd Down

Care to Take the Punting on 3rd Down Challenge?

The FanDuel Week 12 punting challenge will be with Shaun Hill ($6,300). The challenge is to play a $1.00 game with Shaun Hill at QB. I’ll be posting my punting lineup in the forum later this week. Highest score wins bragging rights as the Week 12 Champion!

Alright FST Community, I’d love to hear who YOU love (or hate) this week. Post your FanDuel value picks for Week 12 in our Fantasy Football Forum.
