Each week during the NFL season FST brings you our Fantasy Football Start’em column, which takes a look at favorable matchups and how they might impact lineup decisions for your fantasy football roster. Let’s take a look at some players that you’ll want in your starting lineup for Week 6. If you have any start’em sit’em questions feel free to post them in our Fantasy Football Forum.
Robert Griffin III
After the bye-week it’s Cowboys in this Texas sized rivalry. RGIII torched the Dallas secondary last season in Big D and it paved the way to the late season surge that put them into the playoffs. RGIII starts looking more like his old-self in this game. After Peyton went bananas last week it’s tough to not like this matchup.
SuperCam will show up this week. That’s what I’m sticking to here. I know he’s not happy with last week and the Vikings aren’t a slouch, but I like a bounce-back type effort. Don’t give up on the Panthers quite yet. There should be plenty of points to go around in this game.
Colston didn’t get it going last week in the windy city, but as one of Brees’ favorite targets he’s bound to find some open space against New England. I’m not quite as optimistic for a score, but 8 catches for 80 yards looks like start’em material to me.
Labeled the Gruden Grider on MNF, this phenom torched the Legion of Boom (Seattle Seahawks’ secondary) last week. Luck loves to throw it around the field and San Diego has been a generous defense thus far so expect another superb effort for Hilton on Monday night.
Forte has gone quietly into the category of one of the sturdiest and most reliable running backs this season. While he might be under the radar, his matchup on a short week against the Giants has monster game written all over it. Expect the versatility to be on full display against a hapless Giants defense.
The Cowboys can move the football and the Redskins have been generous to opposing offenses thus far. I expect some red zone and goal line touches in what I think will be an old fashioned Texas shootout.
Julius has been making the most of his targets and Denver continues to put up ungodly amounts of yardage and points each game. This game could get early ugly and I expect Thomas to have some mismatches he’ll exploit.
He’s a must-start every week but I think he deserves some love this week. He’s been truly one of the most dominating forces at tight end and if Gronkowski comes back for the Patriots that will be a special set of young tight ends to watch out there.
Eli Manning has been atrocious and so has the Giants team thus far. The Bears led by “Peanut” Tillman are an opportunistic defense that can create turnovers and attack the quarterback. This makes for an excellent fantasy play on Thursday night.
