If you haven’t played in a salary cap format before, here are the basics. Each player has a salary, and you get a fake budget to spend on your team. With your weekly lineup strategy, it’s completely up to you. You can target a group of medium priced players, or play some higher priced studs mixed with value plays. All you need to do is stay under the salary cap. I typically load up on a few stud players, medium valued upside picks, and then gamble on a couple bargain priced or risk/reward players. Here are some value picks I like for Week 15 (based on a $60k budget; sorted by position and price).

Josh McCown @CLE ($7,200) – McCown is playing with high confidence after his soft matchup against Dallas. It’s tougher this week against the Browns, but still a solid value play considering his receiving corps. Jay Cutler is $7,100 if he returns this week.

Matt Cassel vs PHI ($5,900) – This play is a gamblers delight, but it’s dirt cheap and a nice matchup against Philly. If by chance Ponder starts, his price is a measly $5,200.

Kirk Cousins @ATL ($5,200) – Another gamblers delight as coach Shanahan has announced Cousins will get the start this week. If you’re going cheap at QB, I think Cousins is worth a gamble. He’s a quality QB and his low price helps load up the rest of your team.

Running Backs

Toby Gerhart vs PHI ($5,600) – With Adrian Peterson in a walking boot, Gerhart could step up for a value play. I do think this game will be pretty pass heavy, but Gerhart should still get a good workload and goal line work.

Montee Ball vs SD ($5,300) – With a timeshare brewing, Ball could be a good value play again this week. If the Broncos can get a good lead in this one, I’d expect even a bigger workload for Ball.

Wide Receivers

Jordy Nelson @DAL ($6,300) – It’s great matchup for Jordy Nelson and Aaron Rodgers could return this week. If Rodgers does return this week, I’m viewing Jordy Nelson as a must play at this price.

Julian Edelman @MIA ($5,500) – A repeat from last week, Edelman is going on 3 solid weeks for fantasy numbers. Edelman has been a solid red zone target and could get a boost with Gronkowski out.

Tight Ends

Martellus Bennett @CLE ($4,900) – With Joe Haden on the outside, I’d expect extra targets for Bennett in this matchup.

Delanie Walker vs ARI ($4,800) – Walker is coming off a concussion, so there is a chance he may not play this week. If he plays, he could be a solid value play against an Arizona team that is currently the worst in the league against TEs.

Defense/Special Teams

Carolina Panthers vs NYJ ($6,000) – This is an expensive value pick, but I really like the Pathers at home and going against a Jets team than crumble on any given week.

Indianapolis Colts vs HOU ($5,000) – The Texans offense has struggled with their QB issues. The Colts aren’t the most trustworthy, but still could be a good value play at home this week.

My first thoughts for my own lineup this week is I’ll likely stay cheap at QB and RB2. I’ll use the savings to load up at WR and a defense upgrade. With Gronkowski out, I’ll likely play Julius Thomas for a high upside value TE or I’ll gamble on Delanie Walker.

Alright FST Community, I’d love to hear who YOU love (or hate) this week. Post your FanDuel stud, dud or value plays in our Fantasy Football Forum.

Good luck!
