Our Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups article takes a look at players available in many leagues that could have an immediate impact on your fantasy roster, or simply just players to keep on your radar. Let’s take a look at some players that might be worth scooping off the waiver wire heading into Week 22 of the MLB season. If you have any questions on who to pick up or who to drop, feel free to post them in our Fantasy Baseball Forum.

Add in All Leagues

Brandon Moss OAK | 1B/OF

Moss has had one of the hottest bats in the game over the last few weeks and he needs to be owned in more leagues. After a slow start to the season he has really turned things around. He hit 8 home runs in the month of August and I think he could continue this hot bat for the rest of the season. When you combine that with dual position eligibility then I think he is an absolute must add at this point. (about 60% owned)

Adam Eaton ARI | OF

This is the 3rd waiver wire post in a row that I have talked about Eaton and he just keep putting up great stats. Eaton put up similar minor league stats to what Trout did a couple years back so I don’t really understand why he isn’t getting similar hype. He hasn’t been stealing as many bags as I was hoping for, but he does have 9 extra base hits in his last 104 at bats. Eaton has all the upside in the world and it’s time to pick this guy up. Will Venable SD | OF

At this point in the season when we are heading into the fantasy playoffs, it’s important to ride out some hot bats from time to time. Venable is one of those guys right now and I think he is worth a look if he is available in your league. He was one of the hottest players in August and he does a little bit of everything. Add in Deeper Leagues

Eric Young NYM | OF

It’s pretty simple when it comes to deciding if you should pick up Young. If you are looking for some speed and you don’t need power then he is your man. He has had consistent playing time with the Mets and as long as he keeps getting at bats he should continue to steal plenty of bases. (about 30% owned)

Emilio Bonifacio KC | 2B/3B/OF

The Royals have really given Bonifacio the green light since coming over and I like him as a fantasy option for the playoffs. I really like him in daily setup leagues because of his position eligibility. Bonifacio can be a streaky player at times, but if you at all need help with speed then he is a great add. (about 35% owned)

Christian Yelich MIA | OF

This youngster for the Marlins has been on fire lately and I like his upside for the rest of the season. His minor league stats were solid and he has the potential to do it all. He needs to be picked up in all deeper leagues to see if he can keep up this hot streak. (about 20% owned)

Ubaldo Jiménez CLE | SP

It’s surprising to me that Jimenez isn’t owned in more leagues when you look at his stats. He has double digit wins and he has over a strikeout per inning so far this year. True it’s easy to look back at his stats over the last few years and not trust his most recent numbers, but it’s hard to ignore what he has done in the last month. He has 37 Ks with an ERA of 2.32 in his last 31 innings pitched and he could be a decent addition to your playoff roster if you are looking to beef up your starting pitching. (about 30% owned)

Keep an eye on

Matt Adams STL | 1B

We have been saying all year that if Adams gets consistent at bats he could be worth owning in most leagues. To this point though he continues to get limited at bats and his fantasy value has suffered. The latest news out of St. Louis might change this though, Allen Craig might be dealing with a serious foot injury and if he misses extended time then this makes Adams worth picking up in most leagues.
