Each week during the NFL season FST brings you our Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups, which breaks down players available in many leagues that could have an immediate impact on your fantasy roster, or simply just players to keep on your radar. Let’s take a look at some players at each position that might be worthy of scooping off the waiver wire heading into Week 16 of the NFL season. If you have any waiver wire questions, feel free to post them in our Fantasy Football Forum.

Running Backs

Vick Ballard IND | RB

Ballard has really started to get things going lately, and he has a chance for another solid game week 16. I don’t think he is much more than a flex play, but with Brown out of the way Ballard should be in line for another 15+ touches. Mewelde Moore did get the sole goal line carry last week, but he fumbled, so look for Ballard to take over those duties week 16. (about 50% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

DeAngelo Williams CAR | RB

Williams could be a great play championship week if Stewart ends up missing another game. Williams has played a lot better lately, and with a matchup agains the Raiders he could have solid numbers. The Raiders D gives up a ton of yards and points, so the Panthers shouldn’t have much trouble moving the ball. (about 60% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Curtis Brinkley SD | RB

With Mathews done for the year there are going to be some touches to go around in San Diego. It’s yet to be seen if Ronnie Brown will be healthy enough to play, but if not I think Brinkley is a decent pickup. I would only consider him if you are desperate for a running back, but I don’t mind him as a flex play if Brown ends up missing week 16. (about 5% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all deeper leagues

Jackie Battle SD | RB

I think Brinkley has the highest upside for championship, but I don’t mind Battle as a sneaky play in standard leagues. He should get the goal lines, and if Brown misses another game then Battle should be in line for 10+ touches. I would only consider him if you are desperate at running back, but in really deep leagues he could be worth a look. (about 10% owned)
Recommendation: Add in deeper leagues

Wide Receivers

Danny Amendola STL | WR

Amendola came back week 15 and ended up having a decent game. He is Bradford’s favorite target, and they even hooked up for a touchdown against the Vikings. The Rams finish the season against the Bucs and their terrible pass D, so I think this makes Amendola a great play in PPR leagues. (about 65% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Dexter McCluster KC | WR

I picked McCluster as my sleeper last week, and he did pretty much exactly what I thought he would. He didn’t get any action in the running game, but he saw 10 targets and hauled in 7 passes. The Chiefs end the fantasy season against the Colts, so I think this makes McCluster an interesting flex play again this week in PPR leagues. (about 10% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all PPR leagues

Dwayne Harris DAL | WR

I am digging deep here with Harris, so I would only suggest him if you are really desperate for a wide receiver. I think he is a high risk but potentially high reward guy for week 16. He has had 12 targets in the last 2 weeks, and with a matchup against New Orleans coming up I think he is a decent gamble. (about 10% owned)
Recommendation: Add in deeper leagues

Tight Ends

Dennis Pitta BAL | TE

Pitta cooled off during the middle of the year, but he has started to pick things back up. He has had solid games in 2 of his last 3, and I like his chances week 16 against the Giants. If you need a high upside tight end for your championship matchup, then you might want to roll the dice with Pitta. (about 35% owned)
Recommendation: Add in deeper leagues

Sam Bradford STL | QB

Bradford has had an up and down year, but he could end the season with close to 4,000 passing yards and over 20 TDs. He had a great game week 15, and I think he could have another solid outing against the Bucs week 16. He has his favorite target Amendola back from injury, and if you are looking for a pickup and play quarterback then Bradford could be your guy. (about 25% owned)
Recommendation: Add in deeper leagues

Team Defenses

Indianapolis IND | DEF

The Chiefs have been terrible this year, and the Colts defense should be able to put up some fantasy points during championship week. The Chiefs were shutout by the Raiders who have one of the worst defenses in the leagues, so I feel the Colts should have similar success. (about 5% owned)
Recommendation: Pickup and play

New York Jets NYJ | DEF

The Jets defense has been decent this year, and I like their chances against the Chargers week 16. Rivers has looked terrible, and with Mathews now down for the year it should be even easier for the Jets D. I think they could force some turnovers from Rivers, and I think the chances for a pick six are pretty good. (about 65% owned)
Recommendation: Pickup and play
