Each week during the NFL season FST brings you our Fantasy Football Start’em column, which takes a look at favorable match-ups and how they might impact lineup decisions for your fantasy football roster. Let’s take a look at some players that you’ll want in your lineup for Week 14. If you have any start’em sit’em questions feel free to post them in our Fantasy Football Forum.

Running Backs

DeMarco Murray DAL VS. CIN

DeMarco fresh off the inactive list rolled up on the Eagles Sunday night with a steam rolling performance. He looks fresh from the time off and he’s got a team and quarterback that are building on momentum versus a Bengals team that is also in the playoff hunt. I like the odds of a shootout here and some goal line carries. I’ll take Murray for 1 TD and at least 70 yards rushing this weekend.

Trent Richardson CLE VS. KC

Richardson has been quite a breath of fresh air for the Browns offense this season. Richardson and Doug Martin have been rookie beasts that have burst on to the scene and this is where they’ll payoff for you as you enter the playoffs. This matchup has 120 plus yards and 2 TDs written all over it. The Chiefs played admirably last week with heavy hearts but they’ll be pressing to replicate that performance against the Browns as players continue to mourn the murder suicide of their former teammate. Richardson is the “Bullet-Proof Tiger” pick for cash money this week.

Matt Ryan ATL VS. CAR

Matty Ice has been more cold than hot of late to fantasy owners. Is that any reason to worry fantasy owners? No way Jose, he’s still got an explosive cast of weapons and Carolina let even the offensively challenged Chiefs explode last weekend. I’m not about to anoint the Falcons as the cream of the crop and as Ryan as a top 5 QB, but he’s at least good for a couple TDs and 250 plus yards passing.

Josh Freeman TB VS. PHI

Freeman is straight slinging missiles on the gridiron and he’s got his groove back in Tampa this season. Philly has looked horrid defensively the last 3 games and I’ll expect Freeman to be the “Panty-Dropping” pick to click this weekend. They are in the thick of the wild card hunt so this is important game and with Foles coming on at QB and Bryce Brown locking down the job at RB there is a great chance this will be a shootout and lots of fantasy reward.

Wide Receivers

Pierre Garcon WAS VS. BAL

Excusez-moi Monsieur Garcon, may I get another TD? Seriously, this guy has been a beast when he’s been healthy and hooking up with RGIII on the football field. Just like I called him a must start last week vs. Giants he’s another must start against the Ravens. With the Ravens still missing Ray Lewis and the Skins back in the playoff hunt I expect at least 12 targets and close to 80 yards receiving with a TD in this game with their beltway rivals from Baltimore.

Hakeem Nicks NYG VS. NO

Nicks has a great matchup vs. Saints secondary at MetLife stadium this weekend. New Orleans had their backs broken by the Falcons last Thursday. That game also hosed me, thanks a bunch Breezy…5 INTs, really? OK, so Nicks is another good pick to click and Cruz should also be on Eli’s radar as they will be anxious to knock the Saints out early.

Tight Ends

Martellus Bennett NYG VS. NO

Bennett is the man! What a great pick last week, as I pat my own back. He made me look good on MNF with the TD and 15 plus points he put on the Skins D. So he’s got another amazing matchup vs. Saints and again I shouldn’t have to reiterate it but if you’ve got Vernon Davis or Antonio Gates those guys are sitting this week on your bench. Bennett’s got hot matchups and more momentum, which is what you look for in your fantasy roster come playoff time.

Brandon Myers OAK VS. DEN

Welcome to Thursday night football! He’s got an opportunistic matchup vs. Denver who doesn’t defend well against the tight end position. I don’t expect this game to be close, so if/when the Raiders fall behind Palmer should be looking Myers way often. He had a whale of a game last weekend and expect the good times to roll this weekend.

Cleveland Browns CLE VS. KC

The Browns are back to being the pick defensively since they oppose the Chiefs this weekend. With a week to mourn, the Chiefs will be playing with less fire than they did last weekend. I think the Browns find ways to intercept and perhaps take one back to house against Brady Quinn. Browns have top 3 defense potential for the week. It’s all about finding these precious and favorable matchups come playoff time.
