Waiver Wire is our weekly look at players available in many leagues that could have an immediate impact on your fantasy roster, or simply just players to keep on your radar. We’ll be here all season to let you know which players to watch, who to ignore, and most importantly, who to pick up. If you have any waiver wire questions, feel free to post them in our Fantasy Football Forum.

Add in all Leagues

DeMarco Murray DAL | RB

What a performance week 7 by Murray. Not only did he have a great first start in his NFL career, but he broke Emmitt Smith’s record for most rushing yards in a game by a Cowboy. It’s time for Felix Jones owners to start preparing for a heavy timeshare when he comes back. This was against the worst run D in the league, but he is still someone that has an enormous upside. (about 60% owned)

Michael Bush OAK | RB

McFadden always has a hard time staying healthy, and he got banged up again week 7. McFadden owners need to grab Bush if he is still available. The Raiders have a bye week 8 so there is a chance that McFadden doesn’t miss any time, but Bush needs to be owned just in case his injury is serious. (about 55% owned)

Jackie Battle KC | RB

Battle has officially taken over as the featured back for the Chiefs, and he could have a lot of value moving forward. The Chiefs have looked a lot better as of late, and that offense has the potential of putting up a lot of points. McCluster and Jones are still going to be in the mix, but Battle is the clear cut guy to own. (about 50% owned)

Roy Helu WAS | RB

With the injury to Hightower this is going to open the door for Helu to get some more touches. Helu is going to have limited upside as long as Torain is healthy, but he might not have to wait long until Torain gets banged up. I have been saying from day one that I think Helu will have value when it counts the most, and it looks like that might happen. If you have room on your bench I highly recommend grabbing Helu if he is available. (about 15% owned)

Ryan Torain WAS | RB

Torain is going to take over the starting job for the Skins with Hightower getting hurt week 7. If Torain can stay healthy he does have the potential of putting up big numbers, but you never can tell what Shanahan is going to do with his RBss. He needs to be owned in all leagues until this situations shakes out. (about 60% owned)

Darrius Heyward-Bey OAK | WR

I think it’s time to call Heyward-Bey a must add. Week 7 was his 4th week of consistently being involved in the offense, and the addition of Carson Palmer should only help the situation. Palmer looked a little rusty, but they should look like a different offense week 9 after their bye. (about 60% owned)

Knowshon Moreno DEN | RB

Moreno has a golden opportunity to try to win back his starting job over the next couple of weeks. McGahee is going to miss at least 1 week with a hand injury, and it will more than likely be 2+ weeks. Look for Ball to get involved as well, but Moreno should have some decent short term value in PPR leagues. (about 50% owned)

Alfonso Smith ARI | RB

Wells went down with a knee injury which is going to open the door for Smith to maybe get a couple starts. Smith has a tough matchup week 8 against the Ravens, but if Wells still can’t go then they have the Rams and their worst run D in the league week 9. I am not expecting a lot out of Smith, but he needs to be snagged by all Beanie Wells owners if possible. (about 5% owned)

Add in Deeper Leagues

Bernard Scott CIN | RB

The Benson suspension was reduced to 1 game, but Scott is still going to get his chance to start. The Bengals don’t have the best matchup agains the Seahawks, but Scott should be in line for about 15 touches. I still expect Leonard to get involved, but if you are desperate Scott could be a decent play. (about 15% owned)

Pierre Thomas NO | RB

Mark Ingram got banged up this week and it sounds like he will not be 100% heading into week 8. This should mean more touches for Thomas against the worst run D in the league. We all saw what Murray was able to do against the Rams, so look for Thomas to have a big game if he gets more opportunities. (about 50% owned)

Demaryius Thomas DEN | WR

The Broncos second year receiver had a decent game in his first game back from an injury. With Tebow now at quarterback this is going to hurt the passing game as a whole, but Thomas is still someone who is worth picking up. Thomas has the biggest upside out of all Denver receivers, and he should be their best red zone threat. (about 10% owned)

Jerod Mayo NE | LB

Mayo was dropped in a lot of leagues as he was injured and on a bye last week. He was listed as questionable for week 6, so after 2 more weeks he should be ready to go week 8. It’s not very often that you get a chance to pick up a top 5 player of any position, so if he is available in your IDP league I would do what you can to try to get him. (about 20% owned)

Cincinnati CIN | DEF

The Bengals D was dropped in a lot of leagues since they had a bye week 7, but now it’s time to pick them back up. They have a nice matchup against the Seahawks next week, and they should be able to rack up some fantasy points. The Bengals are currently a top 10 fantasy defense, but they are not getting the respect that they deserve. (about 30% owned)

Carson Palmer OAK | QB

Palmer didn’t look that great when he came in for the second half of week 7, but he does have the potential of being a top 15 QB for the second part of the season. The Raiders have a lot of weapons on offense, and Palmer should be able to put up some solid numbers. The Raiders have a bye week 8 so they should have time to get Palmer on the same page with the rest of the offense. (about 45% owned)

Christian Ponder MIN | QB

Ponder had to work hard for every yard against the Packers, but he did show some good signs of athleticism. He was able to throw for 2 scores, and he added 31 rushing yards as well. Most of Ponder’s potential fantasy value is going to come with what he can do with his legs, but he is a decent guy to add in really deep leagues. (about 10% owned)

Davone Bess MIA | WR

Bess wasn’t a huge part of the offense with Henne behind center, but Moore connected with Bess 7 times this week. The injury to Henne might put Bess back on the map in PPR leagues, and especially PPR leagues that count return yards. Bess is a talented guy and the Fins would be stupid not to try to find more ways to get the ball in his hands. (about 30% owned)

Leon Washington SEA | RB

Lynch really screwed a lot of people week 7 with his late scratch due to a back injury. If Lynch is unable to go week 8 this will open the door for Washington and Forsett to get more touches. Washington outplayed Forsett week 7, and I expect he will get more touches week 8 if Lynch can’t go. The Seahawks have a tough matchup against the Bengals so don’t expect big things, but Washington could do ok in PPR leagues. (about 5% owned)

Antonio Brown PIT | WR

After 2 very quite weeks Brown finally had another solid game. He had career highs in catches and yards, while racking up over 100 return yards. Hines Ward is slowly getting phased out of that offense, and as he does that is going to result in more targets for Brown. At this point I still consider Brown a hit or miss guy, but he has a lot of potential. (about 30% owned)

Michael Jenkins MIN | WR

The new QB situation in Minnesota might open the door for Jenkins to have some value. He is a big target for Ponder and proved this week that he can still go up and get the ball. Jenkins has never been more than just an average fantasy receiver, but the Vikings don’t have much competition for targets. I am not expecting huge things, but he should have some more solid games this year. (about 10% owned)

Jabar Gaffney WAS | WR

Santana Moss got hurt this week and it looks like he might miss 5-7 weeks. This means there will be a lot more balls to go around in Washington. Gaffney has been consistently involved in the offense, and he should be asked to do even more with Moss on the sideline. (about 20% owned)

Shaun Hill DET | QB

The reports on Stafford have been somewhat positive, but Hill needs to be owned in deeper leagues if Stafford misses any time. Hill proved last year that he can put up decent fantasy numbers when give the chance, and as long as Calvin Johnson is healthy then any Lions quarterback has potential for fantasy value. (about 5% owned)

Keep an Eye on

Javier Arenas KC | CB

The speedy defensive back for the Chiefs got involved in the offense week 7, which is something that should grab your attention. He was given one carry, but he was able to run it in for a touchdown. Arenas handles the Chiefs kick return duties as well, so he should have value in leagues that count return yards. Arenas isn’t going to give you many tackles, but he does have a lot of big play potential. (about 10% owned)
