Waiver Wire is our weekly look at players available in many leagues that could have an immediate impact on your fantasy roster, or simply just players to keep on your radar. We’ll be here all season to let you know which players to watch, who to ignore, and most importantly, who to pick up. If you have any waiver wire questions, feel free to post them in our Fantasy Football Forum.

Add in all Leagues

LeGarrette Blount TB | RB

The torch has finally been passed in Tampa, and Blount now has a ton of value. He had a monster game on Sunday scoring 2 TD’s and rushing for 120 yards. Blount should have good numbers for the rest of the season, and he should be owned in all leagues. (about 30% owned)

BenJarvus Green-Ellis NE | RB

It looks like the Patriots may have finally decided to not spread their carries around to 5 different running backs. Green-Ellis has had at least 10 touches in each of the last 6 games, and he has 6 TD’s during that stretch as well. If Green-Ellis is available we think he is a must add, even if you aren’t going to start him he should give you instant trade value. (about 55% owned)

Steve Johnson BUF | WR

The Steve Johnson TD streak continues, he now has at least one TD in each of his last 5 games. This third year player has had at least 3 catches in each game so far this year, and he is turning into a reliable fantasy option. It’s shocking that he is still available in so many leagues. (about 75% owned)

Add in Deeper Leagues

David Garrard JAC | QB

Garrard looked great week 8, and he appears to be 100% healthy. The Jags have a bye week 9, but there is a very good reason why we included Garrard in this weeks post. He plays Houston week 10 and with Rivers, Brees, and Rodgers all with a bye that week Garrard, could be a great pick up and play. (about 25% owned)

Jon Kitna DAL | QB

Kitna had a decent game week 8, he threw for almost 400 yards and he had a touchdown. He did however throw 4 picks, but only 1 of them was his fault. He is going to be inconsistent, but the Cowboys still have a lot of weapons and they should ask Kitna to throw the ball a lot. (about 30% owned)

Davone Bess MIA | WR

Bess is getting no love from fantasy owners this year. He is still only owned in about half the leagues, and he is on pace for a solid year. He could end the season with around 900 yards, 85 catches, and 7 TD’s. (about 60% owned)

Jacob Tamme IND | TE

With Dallas Clark out for the season the Colts have to look elsewhere for their starting TE. It looks like Tamme is going to be that guy, and he could have some value in the second have of the season. He had a big game Monday night, and he could be a nice pickup if you are looking for a TE. (about 15% owned)

Giants Defense NYG | DEF

The Giants had a bye week 8 and they were dropped in a lot of leagues. They should be fresh coming off the bye week, and the D-Line should be able to rack up a healthy sack total. The Giants are top 5 in sacks, and Hasselbeck has already been sacked 22 times this year. (about 70% owned)

Brandon Tate NE | WR

Everyone was rushing to pick up Tate after Moss got traded in New England, but after two straight terrible games he was dropped in a ton of leagues. After his performance Sunday it’s time to think about picking him back up, especially in leagues that count return yards. With a matchup against Cleveland week 9 he could be a decent pickup and play if you need help at WR. (about 25% owned)

Steve Breaston ARI | WR

Breaston finally came back from his week 3 injury and he made his presents felt. He had his best game of the year, and is making a strong case to be added in a lot of leagues. The Cardinals seem to be close to figuring out their offense, and if they do Breaston could have a huge second half. (about 45% owned)

Vincent Jackson SD | WR

Jackson reported to the Chargers and he is now eligible to return week 12. If you have a good record and can afford to use a roster spot on Jackson we think it’s a great move. The Chargers have a decent playoff schedule and he could help you win when it counts the most. (about 45% owned)

Sidney Rice MIN | WR

Rice could be back as early as week 10, and with the news of Moss maybe getting waived Rice could have good value when he returns. A lot can happen between now and when Rice returns, but if you have a roster spot we say pick him up and see what happens. (about 35% owned)

Brandon LaFell CAR | WR

Lafell had his second decent game in a row, and it’s time to consider adding this rookie in deeper leagues. The Panthers have been searching for a consistent number 2 WR and LaFell could be that guy. It would be a shock if he turns out to be a consistent fantasy option, but he does have a decent upside. (about 5% owned)

Add to Watch List

Darrius Heyward-Bey OAK | WR

Heyward-Bey is a very talented WR but consistency is his main issue. He did however have his best game of the year on Sunday, and this could be a sign of things to come. We don’t think it’s time to pick him up just yet, but you should keep an eye on this young receiver. (about 5% owned)
