I need a 2 for 1 or something.

I just made a 1 for 2, therefore I need to drop somebody, but if I dropped someone it would have to be Garza, and he has 2 starts this coming up week and I believe he still has some value. That's how deep my team is. So, I'm looking to make a trade where I give away 1 more player than I receive so I don't have to drop him. How do you feel about this?

Pedroia, Garza, and Hellickson for Strasburg and Uggla?

If he doesn't want that, I know I could do that same thing with Cueto instead of Strasburg. Would that be an okay second choice? Is Cueto an upgrade over Hellickson? I haven't watched him enough to know, but his numbers look similar. Thanks.

I like the trade idea and I think it has a good chance of being accepted. The only issue, and it's a big one, is the innings cap on Strasburg. They are going to shut him down in the 160-180 IP range. So, with that in mind I think this deal would be a non-starter in a H2H league (no Strasburg for the playoffs).

To answer your other question, I would not consider Cueto an upgrade to Hellickson.

He actually declined and said he isn't getting rid of Strasburg. I could give Pedroia, Hellickson, and Garza for Kinsler and Papelbon though.

Garza isnt much of a factor because if I dont move him I have to drop him. I like Kinsler over Pedroia, and I get Papelbon for Hellickson, which I need a closer. I have Chris Sale as one of my RP right now, and only Jim Johnson as my true RP. 10-Team H2H. I think Kinslers upside over Pedroia makes the Hellickson for Papelbon swap worth it.

My pitching is deep enough that I can afford to get rid of Hellickson and this would be my pitch: Only start 5 starters, 2 RP. I could go based on matchups and 2 start weeks.
SP CC Sabathia
SP Gio Gonzalez
SP Felix Hernandez
SP Jered Weaver
SP Anibal Sanchez
SP Cliff Lee
SP Chris Sale
RP Jim Johnson
RP Jonathan Papelbon

In a vacuum it's not a great deal, but your reasoning is spot on. I like Kinsler a little more than Pedroia, too... even with the injury risk. Hellickson for Papelbon is debateable, but if you need a closer it's not a bad swap. Since you would drop Garza anyway, that would be the sweetener that the other player might need to do this deal. I like it!
