Trade help. Kind of a problem.

Postby kellerkeller » Thu May 31, 2012 11:27 am

Ever since I traded Stanton for Castro and Ellsbury, I've been regretting it. I did however turn those 2 along with Granderson, into Longoria, Hanley, and Cruz. But, I want him back. I sent the guy an offer, not the best, but an offer. Cruz and Shields for Stanton and Strasburg. He declined, and told me Miguel Cabrera for Stanton. I didn't want that. He then sent me the same offer I sent him, the Cruz and Shields for Stanton and Strasburg and the comment section said "cabrera for stanton". I accepted and then began to be confused. He has Melky Cabrera, so maybe he was telling me he'd replace Melky for Stanton? If he was telling me he only wanted Miguel Cabrera, he wouldn't have sent me the trade offer, right? The guy only gets on about once or twice a week from what I know, and when he is on he isn't on too long. I'm not sure if he sent me the offer on accident or not, and if so, I feel pretty bad, but at the same time, I give up 2 good players. I get Strasburg on the pitch limit instead of Shields. I think I win this trade by alot because of Stanton though, I think I need some help guys. Thanks.

Wow...there is a lot happening here...1) from the desription I dont believe that Melky is invovled in his thinking at all...and i do believe that he sent you the same trade offer with "Cabrera for Stanton" in the comment with the thought you would counter with that...which either he is really new to fantasy or hes an idiot...2) I definately think you win this trade...but i would prepare for backlash when he does find out he has Cruz and not Stanton...3) I would let your commish now ehat happened...he offered the trade so i dont think it should be reversed...but i would do the courtesy of informing the commish...cause i do believe hes gonna make it an issue...

Good Luck

Thanks. I messaged him. The trade has 2 objections and doesnt go through until tomorrow at midnight, so it probably wont stand anyway. Im thinking he messaged people in the league about it, usually trades dont get objected unless it's obvious one sided trades which doesnt even happen. The fact it has 2 objections in 2 hours make me think he messaged everyone. If this trade went through, however, my team would be exactly where I want it.
If it goes through, this is it:
C Carlos Ruiz
1B Miguel Cabrera
2B Dustin Pedroia
3B Jose Bautista
SS Hanley Ramirez
OF Giancarlo Stanton
OF Josh Willingham
OF Shane Victorino
U Mike Aviles
Bench Pablo Sandoval 3B
Bench Evan Longoria 3B
Bench Dayan Viciedo OF

SP Josh Beckett
SP Felix Hernandez
SP Stephen Strasburg
SP Jeremy Hellickson
SP Josh Johnson
RP Jim Johnson
RP Kenley Jansen
Bench Johan Santana
Bench Jered Weaver

I don't think that trade is terrible, but if it's a league vote I doubt it will go through. I am not a fan of leagues that do league vote. I would much rather have a trusted commissioner make the call, but trusted commissioners can be hard to find. Good luck, but I doubt this one will make it.

Well, as of right now there are only 3 objections. They guy messaged me back and said not to worry and it was his fault, because he was in a hurry. He said he was wanting Miguel Cabrera and Shields for Stanton and Strasburg, which, I dont think I would have accepted. He took full responsibility for it though, and said if this goes through we could just try to work something out for Cabrera.
