General discussion about Fantasy Football

I'm planning on trying to snag Rob Gronkowski in the 2nd round, so I was wondering if it'd be smarter to take a quarterback like Rodgers, Brady, or Brees in the first round or if it'd be better to try to get a running back like LeSean McCoy, then hope to get somebody like Cam Newton in the 3rd round?
Thanks so much!

Welcome!
I dont think think there is a right answer other than preference. Cam may not be there in the 3rd, so you'll have to be open to Stafford, Vick and waiting later if you also miss on them. Teams that gather early studs and late QBs have a huge upward swing if they land a QB that turns out to be a top tier player (Newton and Stafford last year, Vick the previous).
Typically I'm a fan of a top QB I can lock in weekly. Your RBs will suffer the most with a QB and TE early. Make sure you load up plenty of RBs in the mid and late rounds for depth and upside. If your scoring is PPR, then I like the stud RB who is also a PPR gem in the 1st round.
Hit up some mock drafts and see how they compare. Feel free to post some on the forum here if you want some ideas or thoughts on your mocks.
Good luck!

Yeah, I think it is personal preference here... I'm a 2xQB guy myself. I like to take two a little lower and play the matchups. That gives you higher quality RB's and WR's with those early picks.
That said, if you are determined to take a QB in round 1 or round 3... I say you take Aaron Rodgers if you can get him in round 1, and if not wait until round 3 to see what's left. If there's a Stafford or Newton left in round 3 you take him, if not you're waiting much longer.

Yeah this year is going to see QBs as a whole go much earlier, the old thought was wait on a QB since there were so many viable options but the top guys really separated themselves from the pack last year and therefore will be going early. This in turn might cause other owners to go into panic mode and take Vick stafford late second early third.
I don't see Rodgers Brady Brees newton lasting past the second round in any draft.
If you wait on a QB I would snag two quality guys in the early middle rounds and play matchup game. A pairing of Eli and Ryan as an wxample is a nasty duo to play the match up game with week to week.
Long story short you cannot go into a draft with a set strategy u have to adapt to what is happening. So if Rodgers slips to late first grab him conversely if QBs r being over drafted wait and take the better skill position players that slipped.
I would take foster, rice, McCoy all over Rodgers if u have a high pick as well to specifically answer that question
