Wow this is a tough one. I don't think Youk was happy in Boston and he has been amazing since joining the White Sox. However, it's hard to ignore what Plouffe has done. The thing I really like about Plouffe is his unbelievable position eligibility. I think Youk is the safer out of the two, but I think Plouffe has the bigger upside at this point. I don't really believe that Plouffe will keep up this pace, but at this point I think it's really hard to not put a lot of stock into his numbers. This is really close but due to the position eligibility I give the very slight edge to Plouffe.

for sure makes sense i like the eligibility too. youk is on the waiver heres my team i wanna snag him while i can.....
C Pierzynski.
1B Konerko.
2B Aaron Hill and Pedroia.
SS Plouffe and Desmond.
3B Aramis Ramirez and Zimmerman.
OF Willingham, Chris Young, Alex Gordon, Jason Kubel, Matt Kemp and Emilio Bonifacio
Starting Pitchers: Cliff Lee, Capuano, Matt Moore, T. Bauer, Sale, Dempster
Closers: Axford, Jim Johnson
i feel like youk could add to my team since hes 1st and 3rd eligible. i have plenty of 3rd i like his 1st base eligibilty with konerko being in a slump lately. some other waivers Neil walker, Tyler Colvin, Laroche, Logan Morrison. Another question that has risen forme lately is Axford worth even having on my team. i feel like he doesnt getmany saves playing in milwaukee and when he gets an opportunity he blows it. i could swoop phil hughes, burhle, niese, blanton, gee, jason vargas? most are starters but i have sale and johnson who could fit into closers spots.? sorry i made this complicated i just need a big swing here busts and injuries have killed my team and record.

Regarding Axford... as long as a closer has the job he's worth owning in most leagues. They are there to get saves, anything else they contribute is gravy. The qualitatives don't have a large enough denominator to hurt your team averages. (Or help too much, either.) You don't get saves if you don't have the job. Don't go crazy because it's 10% of your score in a 5x5 league, but it's a specialized position on your roster.
