Each week our Fantasy Baseball experts will give fantasy owners their top choices for players to pick up for all leagues, as well as some players to consider in deeper leagues. If you have any Fantasy Baseball questions for our experts feel free to post them in post them in our Fantasy Sports Forum.

Add in all leagues

Matt Thornton CWS | RP

At this point it is only a matter of time until Thornton takes over the closer role in Chicago. Jenks has been slipping lately and we truly feel it’s time for Thornton to step in. Don’t wait until the news is official, pick him up now before it is too late. (about 65% owned)

Alfredo Simon BAL | RP

So far so good for Simon as the closer for Baltimore. If you need a closer we think he is a good gamble. There will definitely be some bumps in the road, but he could be a decent pickup. (about 30% owned)

Scott Podsednik KC | OF

Podsednik is healthy and playing great. We weren’t sure he would be able to keep it up, but we are almost 2 months into the season and he is still playing great. If you are looking for speed in the outfield then snag Podsednik. (about 65% owned)

Brett Gardner NYY | OF

Gardner is taking full advantage of his everyday job with the Yankees, and we think he should be owned in all leagues. He is a great speed specialist and should bat for a decent average. We think Gardner could be a big name in fantasy for many years to come. (about 75% owned)

Chase Headley SD | 3B/OF

Headley has been on a lot of peoples radar over the last couple years and now we know why. He is putting up great numbers so far, and to top it all off he has 9 stolen bases. His third base eligibility makes him a must add in our opinion. (about 75% owned)

Starlin Castro CHC | SS

Few major leaguers have had a more impressive first game then Castro with a HR, a triple and 6 RBI’s. We never really put much stock in rookies in fantasy baseball but at the very least Castro is worth keeping an eye on. (about 15% owned)

David Freese STL | 3B

Freese has a big upside and few players will have as many RBI opportunities as Feese. He bats fifth in the Cardinals lineup after Ludwick, Pujols, and Holliday. He is going to have plenty of AB’s with ducks on the pond and he should have good RBI totals this year. (about 55% owned)

Buy Low

B.J. Upton, Justin Upton, Felix Hernandez, Josh Beckett, Chonge Figgins

Sell High

Andre Ethier, Austin Jackson, Jason Heyward, Vladimir Guerrero, Paul Konerko, Ubaldo Jiménez
