Each week our Fantasy Baseball experts will give fantasy owners their top choices for players to pick up for all leagues, as well as some players to consider in deeper leagues. If you have any Fantasy Baseball questions for our experts feel free to post them in post them in our Fantasy Sports Forum.
Tabata just turned 22 the other day, and this youngster has been very impressive during his major league career. He has good speed and a great batting average so far, and he rarely strikeouts. Tabata could be a good addition to your team if you are looking for an outfielder with some speed. (about 20% owned)
Jay continues to put up amazing numbers, and it looks like this guy could be for real. He has yet to find his power stroke, but he has a lot of other stuff going for him. He is batting for a great average, and he has an amazing strikeout to at bat ratio. We think his numbers will come down, but there is a chance he keeps up fantasy worthy numbers. (about 15% owned)
Scott has been one of the hottest players in baseball over the last 30 days. During that time he is batting well over .300 with 9 HR’s and 22 RBI’s. We don’t think Scott has a huge upside, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to at least ride out this hot streak if you need some help in the outfield. (about 60% owned)
This rookie third basemen has been on fire since getting called up. He has hit for average and power, and he has also thrown in a few stolen bases. He will cool off, but its impossible to ignore these numbers. If you have a roster spot and need some help at third base, then we say take the gamble. (about 50% owned)
Beckham was almost universally owned coming into the season, but after a terrible start he was dropped in a ton of leagues. We are shocked that even after he broke out of his slump in a big way, he is still available in a lot of leagues. He needs to be picked up in pretty much all leagues at this point. We think he will have a huge second half. (about 65% owned)
Montero was one of our favorite catchers coming into this year, and we still love his upside. He should be fully recovered from his knee injury, and he is starting to find his grove at the plate. We are very confident that he will have a strong second half, and he should be owned in almost all leagues. (about 65% owned)
Walker has played great over the last few weeks, and his position eligibility makes him an interesting fantasy option. He doesn’t have much speed or power, but he can bat for average and give you the position flexibility. (about 25% owned)
Hellickson is one of the most interesting young pitchers in the league right now. Due to a couple of injuries out in Tampa he has been given a spot in the rotation, and he has been impressive. So far in 2 outings he has only given up 2 earned runs, and he has averaged a strikeout an inning. Hellickson is going to get picked up in a lot of leagues, so if you want to take a gamble on this young pitcher you better act fast. (about 25% owned)
