Each week our Fantasy Baseball experts will give fantasy owners their top choices for players to pick up for all leagues, as well as some players to consider in deeper leagues. Add in all leagues
Jones already has 3 HR’s this season and he has been flying off the waiver wires. He showed signs of power during limited AB’s last year, and we think he is a great gamble at this point of the season. (about 75% owned)
There was a lot of preseason hype around Davis, but a report came out that he might lose his starting job and that really hurt his draft value. So far he is starting and leading off for the A’s, and we feel he should be universally owned. (about 70% owned)
Reimold had a great rookie year in ’09 and he has a huge upside. A nagging injury has set him back, but we fully expect him to be the starting left fielder when healthy. We think Reimold could have a good year and he is a great gamble for any fantasy team. (about 55% owned)
Blanks is off to a very slow start but we wouldn’t give up on him just yet. He is going to have a lot of strikeouts and probably have a low average, but he has the potential of being a great roll player power guy. (about 40% owned)
We know Liriano is far from a guarantee at this point, but he should be owned in more leagues. He still has a huge upside and there is a decent chance he goes back to his old self. Pick him up before his first start if you have anyone to drop. He is going to fly off the waiver wire if he has a good start later this week. (about 65% owned)
Frasor is off to a slow start, and is probably getting dropped in a decent amount of leagues. We think Frasor is a gamble at the closer roll, but we think he is a good gamble. (about 60% owned)
Matusz is one of the more interesting young pitchers in the league. He ended last year on a positive note, and we fully expect him to pick up right where he left off. Pick up Matusz if you are looking for a pitcher to take a gamble on. (about 45% owned)
