As we get deeper into the preseason, it starts to become more clear which players should be moved up or down on your fantasy football draft board. More clarity on position battles and lingering injury concerns are a couple of the primary factors that dramatically impact a player’s fantasy value heading into the season. Let’s take a look at several players who have seen their fantasy stock rise during the 2013 NFL Preseason.
Towards the end of last season Richardson begin to see more and more touches and we loved what we saw. Now that Richardson has officially been named the starter we feel he can be taken as a bargain. Many sites have Richardson pre-ranked outside of the top 90 while we believe he should be going around pick 65.
This off-season everyone was wondering whom Tom Brady was going to throw the ball to other than Danny Amendola and I think we might have found the answer. Kenbrell Thompkins, has been a standout this pre-season catching the ball 13 times for 142 yards through three games. Everyone should be targeting Thompkins around pick 110 in their drafts.
Hilton ended last season with some great games and clearly, Andrew Luck has great chemistry with him. Still, the Colts added some other pieces this off-season and Hilton’s roles was somewhat up in the air. All of that is going away as Hilton still is one of Luck’s favorite targets thus far and we see him locking up the wide receiver two role behind Reggie Wayne for the Colts. He should continue to build on his strong finish to 2012.
I loved this guy coming into the NFL last season as he has all the physical tools to be great wide receiver. The issue last year was he had no one to throw him the ball. In steps Carson Palmer, a real quarterback this season. Floyd should be able to see single coverage all year long with Larry Fitzgerald on the opposite side of the field and the local beat reports have stated Floyd is the standout thus far in camp. Floyd is a huge breakout candidate this season that you can get after pick 100.
As the news continues to be bad on Rob Gronkowski the news continues to be stellar on undrafted rookie Zach Sudfeld. Tom Brady has sang the praises of both him and Kenbrell Thompkins (as seen above) so one must like both of their chances to have an impact on your fantasy team this season. Sudfeld is a big target with great hands and might not have the exact same physical talents as Aaron Hernandez but the Patriots are looking more and more like they will have him locked into that role this season.
