Our Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups article takes a look at players available in many leagues that could have an immediate impact on your fantasy roster, or simply just players to keep on your radar. Let’s take a look at some players that might be worth scooping off the waiver wire heading into Week 24 of the MLB season. If you have any questions on who to pick up or who to drop, feel free to post them in our Fantasy Baseball Forum.

Add in All Leagues

Kole Calhoun LAA | OF

This talented rookie is a guy that needs to have the fantasy worlds attention and I like his chances for the rest of the season. He had monster numbers in the minors and since getting called up he has played very well. If you are in any type of keeper or dynasty league then you need to run to your computer to add him if he is still available. (about 20% owned)

Emilio Bonifacio KC | 2B/3B/OF

Since going over to the Royals Bonifacio has been great and in the last month he has double digit stolen bases. You know exactly what you will get out of Bonifacio, so if you are looking for a decent average and a lot of speed then he is your man. Also, let’s not forget that he has position eligibility at three different spots. (about 40% owned)

Ubaldo Jiménez CLE | SP

Jimenez is quietly putting together a great season and I like his chances for the rest of 2013. It was 2010 when he had his last good year so it’s easy to be a little skeptical of his numbers, but it’s hard to ignore what he has done recently. He is letting a lot of people on base though, but his strikeout totals have been great and he has maintained a solid ERA. (about 60% owned)

Add in Deeper Leagues

Michael Wacha STL | SP

Wacha appears to be up in the bigs for good at this point and he is taking full advantage of his spot in the rotation. He has a sub 3 ERA with about a strikeout per inning and if you remove his bad start from June 4th he has been unstoppable. I do expect the big league hitters to make adjustments on Wacha and knock him around from time to time, but until that happens I say you ride out this young talented arm. (about 40% owned)

Danny Salazar CLE | SP

I expect that Salazar will have some ups and downs for the rest of the season, but if you are looking for some Ks then he is your man. The Indians are going to be watching his pitch count closely, so keep that in mind. However, he has the ability to produce solid strikeout totals in limited innings. (about 30% owned)

Wilson Ramos WAS | C

Ramos has been on fire over the last month or so and he needs to be owned in more leagues. The Nats are making a strong playoff push and Ramos is a big reason for why they are winning games right now. He has been a RBI machine in September, knocking in 22 runs already this month. (about 30% owned)

Yusmeiro Petit SF | SP

Petit has been a little up and down since getting called up to the bigs. I am sure you remember his near perfect game and he has also had some mediocre starts mixed in there as well. The bottom line though is that he is a talented young pitcher that clearly has strikeout potential. I like his upside for the rest of the season and I think he is worth an add in a lot of deeper leagues. (about 35% owned)

Abraham Almonte SEA | OF

Almonte is an interesting young outfielder and when you look at his minor league stats it’s easy to see that he has the potential to do it all. Since getting called up he has played pretty well and if you are in any type of keeper or dynasty league then I think Almonte is worth your attention. He will probably make the Mariners big league roster next year and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s an everyday starter. (about 5% owned)
