Each week during the 2013-2014 NBA season FST brings you our fantasy basketball waiver wire pickups, which breaks down players available in many leagues that could have an immediate impact on your fantasy roster, or simply just players to keep on your radar. Let’s take a look at some of the hottest pickups at each position heading into Week 19 of the NBA season. If you have any waiver wire questions, feel free to post them in our Fantasy Basketball Forum.

Point Guards

Brian Roberts NO | PG

Jrue Holiday underwent surgery on Friday, and it out for the year. Roberts hasn’t been dominant in relief, but he’s been good enough, and now that his starting spot for the rest of the year is not in question, should probably be owned in almost all leagues, and especially if you need a PG. (about 25% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Darren Collison LAC | PG

The Clippers, and fantasy owners, are becoming increasingly worried that J.J. Redick might miss the rest of the year with his buffet of injuries. Jamal Crawford was also recently injured, opening up even more time for Collison. The Clips did sign Danny Granger who could take some time away, but Collison is looking like he has some smooth sailing in front of him minutes-wise, at least for a few weeks. (about 20% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Shooting Guard

Kent Bazemore LAL | SG

The latest D’Antoni reclamation project looks like a great bet to get significant minutes the rest of the way, and thus makes for an excellent grab this week if you’re in need of wing players. He hits 3’s, adds a few boards and assists, and looks to be an asset in steals as well. The Lakers rotations are a fluky as ever, but Bazemore looks to be the apple of his coaches’ eye. (about 25% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Mike Dunleavy CHI | SG

Dunleavy went through a rough past within the last 14 days, and we couldn’t really blame you if you cut bait for a hot FA. If he’s still available, it’s time to consider re-adding him. He’s been getting 30+ minutes for 10 games now, and contributes all across the board statistically. With Deng now in Cleveland, Dunleavy should continue to be a fantasy asset for the balance of 2014. (about 30% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Small Forward

Khris Middleton MIL | SF

Another guy that we couldn’t really blame you for discarding within the last 14 days, but another guy that should once again be added. Middleton posted a 22 / 2 / 1 / 3 line against the Pacers on Thursday in only 26 minutes. O.J. Mayo has taken some of Middleton’s time recently, but he’s terrible and will fall out of the rotation before long. Khris has been the only consistently useful player in the Bucks rotation short of Brandon Knight for some time now, and with his PF eligibility as well is worthy of a pickup if available. (about 30% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Kyle Singler DET | SF

Singler has continued to hit 3’s, continued to play heavy minutes, continued to contribute in both FG and FT percentage, and continued starting. If you need a shooter, it is long since time to cut the worst guy on your bench and grab the Duke product. (about 20% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Power Forward

DeMarre Carroll ATL | PF

There is not a single reason on this earth that a guy that can post lines like 24 points, 7 boards, 3 3’s, 1 steal, and 1 block from the PF position should be less than 50% owned. He was injured for a minute, fine. He’s heating back up again. Make room for him on your team. Now. (about 40% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Alexis Ajinca NOP | PF

Ajinca was all the rage as an add a couple days ago when Anthony Davis left the game with a shoulder injury, as if it was serious he would have been in line for heavy minutes. Davis looks to be okay, but I’m still interested in Ajinca anyway. He’s been heating up, and over the last 7 days he’s posted averages of 11+ points, 8+ boards, and almost a block on excellent percentages in just under 25 minutes per game. Deep leaguers will definitely want to make the add at once, but 10 and 12 team owners will definitely want to take notice here. If Steisma or Davis were grounded for any reason, it looks like Ajinca would become very fantasy relevant, very quickly. (less than 10% owned)
Recommendation: Add in deeper leagues

Center

Timofey Mozgov DEN | C

Timofey was recently named the Nuggets starting C, since J.J. Hickson starting there was really a player out of his natural position (PF) and he was being victimized by opposing C’s. In two games since then, Mozzy has averaged 11.5 points, 7 boards, and 2 blocks in 23 minutes. It is likely he will stick as the Nugs starting C for the rest of the season, and makes for a super cheap add for owners in search of FG%, boards, and blocks. (about 15% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Brandon Bass BOS | C

I will continue to hype Bass as a totally underrated fantasy contributor. Over the last 30 days, he’s averaging 28+ minutes, 12+ points, 6+ boards, almost 1 block, 48% from the field, and almost 90% from the line. He’s PF and C eligible, and I can’t see him going to the bench in favor of Kris Humphries when Jared Sullinger returns this weekend. He’s steady, solid, and the perfect type of glue guy that helps you win week in and week out. (about 40% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues
