Each week during the 2013-2014 NBA season FST brings you our fantasy basketball waiver wire pickups, which breaks down players available in many leagues that could have an immediate impact on your fantasy roster, or simply just players to keep on your radar. Let’s take a look at some of the hottest pickups at each position heading into Week 14 of the NBA season. If you have any waiver wire questions, feel free to post them in our Fantasy Basketball Forum.

Point Guards

D.J. Augustin CHI | PG

Kirk Hinrich left the Bulls last game with a hamstring injury, leaving St. Augustin as “the guy”. The Bulls have signed veteran PG Mike James to back him but, but he’s going to get 30+ minutes from here on out, and should be owned in virtually all fantasy formats. If he’s still around in your league and you need a PG, stop reading this and go add him. (about 50% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Rodney Stuckey DET | PG

Stuckey has been hurt, and bad, and hurt, and bad, and now finally good. He’s back healthy and looked explosive while smoking my Wizards for 20 points, which he followed up with 29 against the Clippers. Ride him while he’s hot with an eye out for the next hot FA on the waiver wire. (about 50% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Shooting Guard

Patrick Beverly HOU | SG

Any time a combo guard for an offense as explosive as Houston’s becomes available, you want to take a look. Beverly isn’t dynamic by any means, but he’s returned from a hand injury and will get starters minutes moving forward, which should force Jeremy Lin to the bench. PatBev got 29 minutes on Monday against the Blazers, and struck for 17 points, 3 assists, and 3 three pointers. He can play 2 positions, and makes for an excellent speculative add for the coming week. (about 20% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Marco Belinelli SA | SG

This dude was already getting solid minutes starting over a struggling Danny Green. Then Green broke his hand. On Wednesday, fellow starting wing player Kawhi Leonard also fractured his hand, leaving the Spurs awful thin on shooters for the next month or so. Belinelli is going to get all the minutes he can handle, and he contributes in multiple cats. He’s an excellent addition in all formats. (about 25% owned)
Recommendation: Add in deeper leagues

Small Forward

Martell Webster WAS | SF

Webster was dominating early in the season while Bradley Beal was injured. He’s since been dropped in a number of leagues as his numbers dipped due to less minutes off the bench, but the sharp-shooting Webster is putting it back together and owners should have a look. He’s averaged almost 3 3’s made per game, 12 points, and a steal while contributing in assists, steals, and percentages. Additionally, if Bradley Beal or Trevor Ariza were to be hurt, Webster would once again step into the starting role. If you need 3’s and a strong upside wing player, Webster is your man. (about 35% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Gerald Wallace BOS | SF

We all know the Celtics aren’t going anywhere this season, but that has not stopped them from producing multiple fantasy relevant players. Avery Bradley was enjoying a breakout season before going down on Jan 22nd with an ankle sprain. He’s expected to miss multiple weeks, and the next man up is Crash. He played 40 minutes for Boston on Tuesday, rolling out a line of 9 points, 6 boards, 9 assists, 4 steals, and a block. He’s more of a short term addition here, but he’s well worth riding while he’s hot and getting minutes until Bradley makes his return. (about 35% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Power Forward

Derrick Williams SAC | PF

The other DWill hasn’t done a whole heck of a lot lately, until Wednesday night, when both DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay were injured. Both are day to day at this point, but their collective absence opens up a ton of minutes for Williams. He played 40 on Wednesday again the Rockets, racking up 22 points and 11 boards. He’s well worth a speculative pickup. (about 20% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Ryan Kelly LAL | PF

We have yet another cheap Lakers pickup that has suddenly gotten minutes in the D’Antoni mindless rotation shift. You have to like Kelly because he’s a stretch 4 that can makes 3’s, he’s getting 30+ minutes at the moment, he seems capable of 6-8 boards per night, and he makes his foul shots. The winds could shift at any moment, but for now the wind is with Kelly in Los Angeles. (less than 15% owned)
Recommendation: Add in deeper leagues

Josh McRoberts CHA | C

When you’re looking at McBob’s stat line, you can’t help but be underwhelmed. He doesn’t dominate in any one category, but gives you steady numbers across the board night in and night out. For this reason, he’s widely available. If you need big man help, consider this: Over the last 14 days, McBob has averaged almost 2 3’s per game, 9+ points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 1+ steals, and 1+ blocks. He doesn’t turn the ball over, and contributes strong percentages. Add it all up, and you have the 34th best player over that scoring period. He’s well worth a look in all fantasy formats. (about 25% owned)
Recommendation: Add in all leagues

Jason Thompson SAC | C

Thompson has actually been pretty consistent lately, averaging about 9 points, 8 boards, and 1 block per game on almost 55% shooting. If DeMarcus Cousins misses significant time, those averages are going to go way up, as are his minutes played. He’s got both PF and C eligibility, and if you have a last bench spot and a need for big man stats, JT is your guy. (less than 15% owned)
Recommendation: Add in deeper leagues
