Each week during the NFL season FST brings you our Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups, which breaks down players available in many leagues that could have an immediate impact on your fantasy roster, or simply just players to keep on your radar. Let’s take a look at some players at each position that might be worthy of scooping off the waiver wire heading into Week 7 of the NFL season. If you have any waiver wire questions, feel free to post them in our Fantasy Football Forum.

Running Backs

Felix Jones DAL | RB

UH OH! down goes Murray. Jones is slated to get a least one start with Murray out, and he might even get a chance to start more. Murray has a foot injury and it’s hard to say exactly when he will return. You never know with those type of injuries, so Jones needs to be added in all leagues. I wouldn’t use a great waiver number since he is just a temporary solution, but if you need a running back for the next couple of weeks then Jones is your guy. (about 25% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in all leagues

Alex Green GB | RB

I thought that Starks might be the pickup after week 5, but after the Sunday night game for the Packers it looks like Green is the guy to own. While he didn’t look amazing, he looked ok and he had a lot of touches. I still expect Starks to get a chance for some carries, but as long as Green doesn’t put the ball on the ground he should continue to get the bulk of the work for the Packers. (about 55% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in all leagues

William Powell ARI | RB

Powell outplayed Stephens-Howling by a good bit week 6, and I think it’s clear to say that he is the guy to own for Arizona. He averaged over 5 yards per carry, and threw in a reception as well. It’s hard to say how much long term value he might have, but I think he is certainly worth an add in all leagues while we find out. (about 35% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in all leagues

Vick Ballard IND | RB

Ballard didn’t look amazing against the Jets, but he had the most touches out of all of the other running backs. I am not expecting huge things from him, but he still has decent short term upside if you need help at running back. The Colts have a few easy match-ups coming up, so Ballard could have a couple solid games before Brown comes back. (about 45% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in deeper leagues

Montario Hardesty CLE | RB

Trent Richardson got hurt week 6, and while he says he will be ok his status for this week remains up in the air. It looks like Hardesty will be the guy to get the early down work if Richardson misses any time, and he could be a decent spot start against the Colts if you are in a bind. The Colts got destroyed last week by Greene from the Jets, so whoever the Browns running back is week 7 has a big upside. (about 5% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in deeper leagues

Mike Goodson OAK | RB

This is more than a gut call than anything else, but I really feel a McFadden injury coming soon. The thing I like most about Goodson is that I know he can handle the load and put up big numbers if given the chance. If and when McFadden gets hurt Goodson could be a top 15 running back, and it would make him a must start in a lot of leagues. If you are wasting a roster spot on a backup tight end or a low upside wide receiver, than I say drop them and pick up Goodson. (about 10% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in deeper leagues

Daryl Richardson STL | RB

I have been high on Richardson since week 1, and it looks like he might even have a little bit of value even with Jackson healthy. I don’t think he will have a ton of value unless Jackson goes down, but he is seeing a lot of work for the Rams right now. So far this year he is averaging over 5 yards per carry, and he has a decent amount of catches as well. Out of all of the handcuffs in the league I think Richardson could have the biggest upside. (about 15% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in deeper leagues

Ben Tate HOU | RB

Tate is owned in a lot of leagues, but I still like him as a pickup and play if he is available. I would only recommend this in deeper leagues or if you have bye week issues, but I like Tate week 7. They are going up against the Ravens D that has been terrible against the run, and they just lost Lewis and Webb for the year. I think this could be one of those games that Foster and Tate go off and both get up over 100 yards. (about 70% owned)
Recommendation: Worth a look as a pickup and play

Wide Receivers

Randall Cobb GB | WR

I have been high on Cobb all year, and at this point I don’t understand why people aren’t picking him up. I know that Jennings is out and that might be increasing his playing time, but I think the return of Jennings will hurt James Jones more than Cobb. He is a big play guy and the Packers are finding creative ways to get the ball in his hands. (about 75% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in all leagues

Domenik Hixon NYG | WR

The Giants don’t seem worried about Victor Cruz and his knee, but if he does miss week 7 then Hixon could be huge. The Giants play the Redskins and that game could be a high scoring game. Since coming back from injury week 3 Hixon has been a big part of that offense. He has 15 catches in the last 3 weeks, and he is close to a must start in fantasy if he gets the nod for the Giants this week. (about 40% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in deeper leagues

Kendall Wright TEN | WR

Kendall Wright continues to be the most productive Titans receiver, and with a matchup against the Bills week 7 I really like his upside. Wright has been on this list many times now, but he is still only owned in less than half of all leagues. The Titans took Wright in the first round of this years draft, and they clearly plan on him being a big part of their offense in his rookie year. (about 40% owned)
Recommendation: Should be owned in deeper leagues

Josh Gordon CLE | WR

The rookie out of Baylor continues to impress this year, adding another TD to his yearly total along with another 99 yards receiving. Gordon only has 12 catches on the year, but he has found the end zone 3 times, and he is averaging over 22 yards per catch. It looks like he is going to be a hit or miss type player, but at this point I don’t think his performance is a fluke. The Browns don’t have many weapons at receiver, and at this point I think Gordon is the only Browns receiver worth owning in fantasy. (about 15% owned)
Recommendation: Worth a look in deep leagues

Quarterbacks

Ryan Fitzpatrick BUF | QB

I think the Tennessee/Bills matchup week 7 could turn into a game that’s all about offense. Both of their defenses are terrible, and I think their offenses are good enough to put up points on the board. If you are one of the Matt Ryan owners looking for a bye week fill in, then I think Fitzpatrick could be your guy. He has had two terrible games in a row, but I expect a rebound game for him against the Titans. (about 55% owned)
Recommendation: Worth a look as a pickup and play

Individual Defensive Players

Russell Allen JAC | LB

Allen was one of the most productive linebackers in fantasy in the first 5 weeks, but he was dropped in a lot of leagues during his bye. He hasn’t done much more than just get tackles this year, but in 5 weeks he had 34 solo and 13 assisted tackles. The undrafted linebacker out of San Diego State is working on a career year, and I think he is worth a look in most IDP leagues. (about 15% owned)
Recommendation: Worth a look in all IDP leagues

Defense/Special Teams

Minnesota MIN | DEF

The Vikings D I think are a must start week 7. With a matchup against the terrible Cardinals offensive line, I think Jared Allen and the rest of the Vikes D should have a field day. I don’t even mind the idea of trying to trade for them if you are in a must win situation. (about 70% owned)
Recommendation: Must add pickup and play
