Since we are fully engulfed in the playoffs I am going to switch up this article just slightly. If you are in the second round of your playoffs you certainly have a strong team which means now is not the time to be picking up free agents starting them over your proven players. This week I just went over a few players with good match-ups that I like as a start, of course if you have stud players keep them in your line-up, this article should help you more with your flex decisions. If you have any start’em sit’em questions feel free to post them in our Fantasy Football Forum.
Wells has been up and down all year but if you have made it this far his inconsistent performances I think you have to roll him out this week. The Browns have yielded a ton of points to running backs all year long and I would expect the same this week. Wells has a good chance to break the 100 yard mark and an even better chance to find the endzone this week.
What a pleasant surprise Reggie Bush has been this year. Last week he eclipsed 100 yards making him a great asset to the Fins and your fantasy team. In point per reception formats his value is even more increased. The match-up with the Bills is a favorable one and being it is December one can expect both teams to turn to the run in Buffalo.
The Rams have been just dreadful against the run and last Monday Night Mr. Lynch proved once again they can stop no one. Typically the D-Line is broken down by the second half and huge holes are present for any back attacking them. This week Cincy is in a must win game and will be sure to control the clock with the run game. Benson is not going to break any long runs off but should get some nice chucks in the second half, if Cincy finds themselves anywhere near the goalline expect a TD plunge from Benson.
Crazy Right? To even have to suggest you starting Calvin in the playoffs. But if you own him, you have been vastly disappointed with him over the last five weeks. I am here to reassure you – start your studs, Calvin will just fine, don’t over think it, he is still one of the best fantasy wideouts in the game.
Miles came back last week and by accounts looked great. He found the endzone and was targeted more than any other wideout for the Cowboys. This week he has a nice match-up with the Bucs and should be Tony Romo’s favorite target again. In a bold bold call this week I would start him over Robinson even as I figure the Bucs to roll coverage on him leaving one on one for Austin all game.
Jones and Roddy’s match-up is my favorite for any receiver this week. The Jags secondary was terrible to start off with and now they are missing there three best players in the secondary. I would not start Jones over a guy like Calvin of course, but if you are looking for a high upside flex play – look no farther.
Clearly if I love the match-up for Roddy and Julio then Matt Ryan is one of my favorite starts of the week. He has been playing lights out and the Falcons is letting him air it out more and more in each passing week. This week he is at home where he typically plays better, personally I am starting him over Vick in one league.
Tebow has steadily improved on his passing numbers each week (with a slight hiccup last week but he came thru again when it counted) and should have his best passing game of the year against the Pats. Their secondary is terrible, their best corner might be a wideout, and their linebackers are so slow. Tebow should come thru for you in the playoffs.
When Eli stated he should be considered in the same class as Brady before the season started everyone laughed – but quietly he is on pace to break Dan passing record along with Brady, Rodgers, and Brees. He is playing the best football of his life and if anyone watched the Skins/Pats game last week it was clear they have given up. The Skins might be one of the worst tackling teams in football so any pass Eli makes could go to the house.
Daniels had 100 yards last week and was targeted a ton of time by the rookie QB. (who looked pretty good might I add) I expect more of the same this week as he seemed to be the safety net used and he does not drop any passes thrown his way. If you have a guy like Gronk or Gates don’t be crazy and consider him but if you have been rolling with two TEs over the last few weeks I think he is the best of that second tier Tight Ends.
I hope you listened to Dustin last week and grabbed the Titans defense – if you did, you start them. There is not a better match-up in football than facing the Colts at this point. Over the past few weeks all of the scoring they have done has come in trash time but since this is a divisional game I don’t see the Titans letting up at any point in the game.
