2011 Fantasy Baseball Second Base Rankings Outlook: Second base is historically the one of the thinnest positions in fantasy baseball. This year however, there is no reason to completely reach simply to fill the position. Cano is our clear-cut number one option but after him there is a ton of risk reward second baseman.
Utley, Pedroia, Kinsler all battled injuries a season ago but are on good offenses and if they stay healthy can be key pieces on your fantasy team. Uggla, Weeks, and Kelly Johnson had a breakout seasons. Uggla has always had the power numbers but the .287 batting average was a nice surprise while Weeks had career highs in homeruns and RBIs.
Still in our top ten is Phillips and Roberts who we believe have some left in the tank. In the later rounds you could take a flier on a few youngsters we really like, Beckham, Walker, Rodriguez all have the ability to have great seasons.
Draft-Day Advice: It’s all about risk reward at this position, choose wisely since having a top second basemen will give your team a nice edge.
