Each week our Fantasy Baseball experts will give fantasy owners their top choices for players to pick up for all leagues, as well as some players to consider in deeper leagues. Add in all leagues
With Frasor off to a slow start, the door has opened for Gregg to take over the closer role in Toronto. In just over 4 innings of work so far Gregg has 3 saves, 0 earned runs, and 6 K’s. If you are looking for a closer then you should pick up Gregg before it is too late. (about 45% owned)
Romero is off to an amazing start this season and is worth picking up in all leagues at this point. He had problems with walks last year, but it appears he may have fixed his control issues. In 15 innings he only has 4 walks and he has 16 K’s. (about 35% owned)
Braden has a nice upside and he is off to a good start this year. He has a sub 3 ERA and almost a K per inning. We think Braden is a good gamble at this point of the season, he could have a break out year. (about 45% owned)
With the recent injury to Miguel Montero there are a lot of fantasy owners looking for a catcher. Pudge could be the perfect short-term replacement, he is off to a great start and he should see a good amount of at bats in Washington. (about 20% owned)
With Brian Roberts and Aaron Hill on the DL you might be looking for a second basemen. We liked him as a sleeper coming into last year, but he just didn’t work out. He is off to an amazing start and could be a nice short-term solution. (about 40% owned)
At the beginning of the season its was unclear if Stubbs was going to be a starter, but it looks like the job is his for now. He has a little bit of power, but the real story with Stubbs is his speed. He should have good stolen base totals and is worth a look if you need help in that category. (about 30% owned)
Podsednik hasn’t had much fantasy value over the last few years, but he has gotten off to a really hot start so far in 2010. He isn’t going to give you any power, but when healthy he can steal a ton of bags. (about 35% owned)
It looks like Headley might finally have that season everyone has been hoping for since he came into the league. He has yet to hit a HR but he is batting over .400 and only has 2 K’s in 29 at bats. (about 50% owned)
If you are one of the unfortunate owners of Jimmy Rollins and you need a SS, you might want to look at Renteria. He hasn’t done much in the last couple years, but he is healthy and playing really well right now. (about 50% owned)
